Physical Poetry Lab with Yara Boustany

Lab is open to all levels (No previous experience needed)

In this Lab we will we will explore different ways to express ourselves through movement and voice.
Throughout these 14 sessions, we will search within the basic elements of choreography such as shape, rhythm, gesture and tempo.
We will transform words, images, colours, ideas and thoughts into movement and sound.
Using exercises from dance, physical theater and object manipulation, each participant will be invited to find his/her own vocabulary.
At the end of these sessions each participant will have created a performance phrase using the creative material collected within the Lab, that we will merge together to create a short presentation that we will present in an open studio.
Yara Boustany is a dance, theatre and circus artist based in Beirut. She graduated with a degree in Audio-Visuals and Cinema from ALBA University, next traveling to the CAU Theatre and Circus School in Granada, Spain where she studied dance, circus, and theatre.
She is a performer and she took part in several collective projects, her latest works include:
“One day – One Night - Beirut” premiered in the 21st International Solotanz Festival in Stuttgart in March 2017.
“Astroturf” was premiered in the Festival “Nahna wel Amar Jiran” in Hammana in September 2017 and later showed at Station Beirut.
